Baseball Game Preview: Jesuit Marauders vs. Oak Ridge Trojans

Jesuit is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Monday. They will challenge the Oak Ridge Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Jesuit will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

If Jesuit beats Oak Ridge with six runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Jesuit won by a run and slipped past Bellarmine College Prep 6-5.

Owen Page looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Jesuit saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Erdmann, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Erdmann has posted since back in April of 2024. Jordan Walczykowski also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Oak Ridge was not the first on the board last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Pleasant Grove.

Noah Nowaski looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Jesuit pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Ridge, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Jesuit skirted past Oak Ridge 5-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jesuit since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
