Basketball Game Preview: Ocracoke Dolphins vs. Washington Montessori Eagles

Ocracoke is a perfect 7-0 against Washington Montessori since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ocracoke managed to keep up with East Carteret until halftime two weeks ago, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Dolphins lost 74-49 to the Mariners. The Dolphins were down 53-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Washington Montessori was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against The Oakwood School, falling 79-54. On the bright side, the 54- point effort marked Washington Montessori's highest-scoring contest to date.

Washington Montessori's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Ocracoke, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything came up roses for Ocracoke against Washington Montessori in their previous matchup back in February, as the team secured a 71-27 win. In that game, the Dolphins amassed a halftime lead of 52-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
