Football Recap: Smoky Hill Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Smoky Hill fell victim to Fairview and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Knights 47-0. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Knights are ranked 15th).

Jayden Hopkins threw for 101 yards on nine of 19 attempts. Eduardo Rodarte was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Ki Ellison, who threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground for Fairview. That's the most passing touchdowns Ellison has posted since back in October of 2024. Sabi Ruttgers was another key player, gaining 51 total yards and two touchdowns.

Smoky Hill now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Fairview, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Smoky Hill has already played their next game, a 48-7 defeat against Eaglecrest on the 3rd. As for Fairview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-0 victory against Prairie View on the 3rd.
