Soccer Game Preview: Jesuit vs. Mandeville

The Jesuit Blue Jays will take on the Mandeville Skippers in a tournament on Saturday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Jesuit is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Denham Springs, who was ranked first at the time (Jesuit was ranked third). The Blue Jays had just enough and edged out the Yellowjackets 2-1. Jesuit haven't had any issues with Denham Springs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Mandeville kept a clean sheet against Acadiana on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rams, sneaking past 1-0. That's two games straight that Mandeville have won by just one goal.

Mandeville's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Jesuit, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

Jesuit took their victory against Mandeville in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Blue Jays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Skippers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
