Basketball Game Preview: Webb City Cardinals vs. Ozark Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Webb City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.

Webb City is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Parkview on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Webb City was outmatched by Parkview and fell 70-37. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

Webb City's loss came about despite a quality game from Holton Keith, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was Keith's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Eli Pace, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Ozark was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 60-59 to Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (55), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Webb City's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. As for Ozark, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Webb City beat Ozark 73-61 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Webb City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ozark turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
