Basketball Recap: Cherry Valley-Springfield Takes a Loss

Cherry Valley-Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Edmeston Central Panthers and fell 59-30. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.

Edmeston Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braymon Clark, who posted 21 points. Clark's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Landon Wust, who earned 20 points.

Cherry Valley-Springfield now has a losing record at 3-4-1. As for Edmeston Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.

Cherry Valley-Springfield will square off against Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Edmeston Central, they will face off against Richfield Springs Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Edmeston Central's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Richfield Springs Central has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
