Basketball Game Preview: Russell Red Devils vs. Corbin Redhounds

The Russell Red Devils and the Corbin Redhounds will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Corbin will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Russell extended their winning streak to four on Saturday. The Red Devils strolled past Montgomery County with points to spare, taking the game 63-45.

Russell got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryder Burgess out in front who shot 50% from the field en route to 21 points. Burgess has also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 46% every time he's hit the court this season. Tyler Cordial was another key player, going 8-for-13 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Corbin). They took down Berea 71-57 on Tuesday. The Redhounds haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Corbin's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Russell, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
