Volleyball Recap: Classical Takes Down Ranked Cranston West

Classical faced Cranston West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Purple walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Falcons. The win was familiar territory for the Purple, who have now won five matches in a row.

Classical had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-20.

Angelina Pham was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had five digs and three aces.

Pham wasn't the only good servers: Classical was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 17 consecutive contests.

Classical's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Cranston West, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
