Tri hadn't done well against Union County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Titans walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Patriots. Winning may never get old, but the Titans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Avery Dungan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Lyla Williams was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ava Griffin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Tri's record now sits at 8-5. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri will welcome Monroe Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans are facing the Golden Bears at the right time seeing as the Golden Bears are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Union County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastern Hancock at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
