Football Recap: Centennial Piles Up the Points Against Rancho Cucamonga + How To Watch

Centennial waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over the Rancho Cucamonga Cougars. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked second, while the Cougars are ranked 33rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Centennial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malaki Davis, who rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Braylin Drake helped out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Centennial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 328 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Centennial's record now sits at 4-1. As for Rancho Cucamonga, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Coming up, after each having a week off, Centennial and Roosevelt will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 2nd. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Rancho Cucamonga, they will head out on the road to challenge Damien at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd. The contest will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season.
