Basketball Recap: Whitharral Takes a Loss

After flying high against Silverton last Tuesday, Whitharral came back down to earth. The Whitharral Panthers were outmatched by the Dalhart Wolves and fell 70-33. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Whitharral had strong showings from Paige Smith, who posted 17 points in addition to eight boards and five steals, and Madi Chavez, who put up 12 points and five steals. Smith's evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Whitharral's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Dalhart, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Whitharral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-19 win against Bovina on the 12th. Dalhart and Farwell will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
