Football Game Preview: Daphne Trojans vs. Auburn Tigers + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Christian Segar and Cason Myers are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Daphne Trojans will square off against the Auburn Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Daphne is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Sparkman to the tune of 43-14. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Daphne found their leader in sophomore LaBrayln Williams, who picked up 122 receiving yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 30 yards and a pair of scores. Jaecyn Myles also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Auburn faced Vestavia Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers walked away with a 52-41 win over the Rebels. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Daphne better keep an eye on Antonio Welch. He was instrumental in Auburn's win, picking up 141 receiving yards and one touchdown. Welch got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 80 yards.

Auburn's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Daphne, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-2.

Daphne came up short against Auburn in their previous meeting back in November of 2020, falling 13-7. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
