Madison Christian and Tree of Life Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tree of Life Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Madison Christian, who comes in off a win.
Madison Christian was handed a 16-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Northside Christian. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Allen Flickinger and Reegan Bryan made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Flickinger struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Meanwhile, Bryan pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Madison Christian is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9 otherwise. At bat, Flickinger got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs, while Bryan went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Flickinger a new career-high.
In other batting news, Patrick Foster was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick(DJ) Williams, who earned one run and three stolen bases.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between Tree of Life Christian and Shekinah Christian, and Shekinah Christian kept the tradition alive. The Trojans fell just short of the Flames by a score of 10-8 on Friday. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Andrew Jackson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Madison Christian's record now sits at 6-10. As for Tree of Life Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Madison Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tree of Life Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Madison Christian suffered a grim 15-7 defeat to Tree of Life Christian in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
