Recap: Roscommon Bucks vs. Houghton Lake Bobcats
The Roscommon Bucks waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They managed a 45-40 win over Houghton Lake. Given Roscommon's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Houghton Lake is ranked 568th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Roscommon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zoey Kauffman led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nemiah Carper, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Roscommon pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Houghton Lake, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Roscommon will head out on the road to face off against Manton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Roscommon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Friday. As for Houghton Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northern Michigan Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Houghton Lake is facing Northern Michigan Christian at the right time seeing as Northern Michigan Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
