Volleyball Game Preview: Plainfield Central Wildcats vs. Yorkville Foxes

The Plainfield Central Wildcats will take on the Yorkville Foxes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Plainfield Central came up short against Geneva and fell 2-0.

Plainfield Central couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Geneva a tough time in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 33-31, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Yorkville didn't have quite enough to beat Joliet Central on Tuesday and fell 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Yorkville sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 22-25, 25-20.

Yorkville has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season. As for Plainfield Central, they dropped their record down to 5-19 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Plainfield Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Yorkville when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
