Softball Recap: Gibbs Comes Up Short

Gibbs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 23-8 to the Bayshore Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-16 back in March.

Brianna Narvaez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Shania Fisher-Sutton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Gibbs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Bayshore, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Gibbs will challenge St. Petersburg Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bayshore, they will square off against DeSoto County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Bruins surely won't give up without a fight.
