Baseball Recap: Tuscola Triumphs

With a playoff win on the line, Tuscola rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the St. Teresa Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

The team relied heavily on Cooper Lyons, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Tuscola: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 11-18 otherwise. Jon Pettry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Tuscola's victory bumped their record up to 13-19. As for St. Teresa, they dropped their record down to 15-16 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Tuscola didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Mt. Pulaski on the 24th. St. Teresa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
