Baseball Recap: Mansfield Senior's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wooster, Mansfield Senior was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Loudonville Redbirds a 4-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tygers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Guy Trader made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Trader was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Mansfield Senior is 4-1 when Trader posts two or more runs, but 6-15 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on MJ Bradley, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Mansfield Senior's win bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Loudonville, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mansfield Senior will face off against Mansfield Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Loudonville, they will square off against New London at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
