Softball Recap: Westview Wolverines vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils
Westview lost against Mt. Carmel back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wolverines fell just short of the Sundevils by a score of 2-1. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westview got a good showing from Kaya Rodriguez, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Rodriguez has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kamryn Gonzalez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Westview's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-8-1. As for Mt. Carmel, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-9.

The Wolverines (ranked 291st) will meet Ramona (ranked 638th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel will take on Escondido at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (325 vs. 839).
