Basketball Recap: South Bronx Comes Up Short

If South Bronx was feeling good fresh off their 82-34 takedown of Bronx United last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The South Bronx Phoenix fell just short of the KIPP NYC College Prep Bulldogs by a score of 55-52 on Monday. The loss was the Phoenix's first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Bronx fell to 3-1. As for KIPP NYC College Prep, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

South Bronx will welcome South Bronx Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in South Bronx Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for KIPP NYC College Prep, they are taking a road trip to take on Hostos Lincoln Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. KIPP NYC College Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Hostos Lincoln Academy likes a good challenge.
