Volleyball Recap: Destiny Christian Academy Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Destiny Christian Academy proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Casa Roble Rams 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Destiny Christian Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 23-25, 26-24, 26-24, 15-12.

Lauren Korver paced Destiny Christian Academy's offense, picking up 25 kills. Korver got some help from Ella Dossey and her 29 assists. Korver was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

Destiny Christian Academy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Casa Roble, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Destiny Christian Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe El Camino at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Casa Roble will challenge rival Rio Linda at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
