Softball Recap: Williams Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Williams and Needles meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Vikings lost 15-3 to the Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 7-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Williams saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Jensen, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Williams' defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Needles, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams will square off against Northland Prep Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Needles, they will take on Lake Mead Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
