Softball Preview: Providence School Stallions vs. West Nassau Warriors

The Providence School Stallions will square off against the West Nassau Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Thursday, Providence School came up short against Episcopal School of Jacksonville and fell 16-12.

Elle Burns put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Burns was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Summer Stearns and Lorelai Herndon did some serious damage despite the final result: Stearns scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Herndon went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave Herndon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh Cardona, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, West Nassau had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Oakleaf by a score of 5-4.
