Football Recap: Temescal Canyon's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Temescal Canyon's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They snuck past the Temecula Valley Golden Bears with a 16-10 victory. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 19-14 win the Golden Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Thomas Hibinski III had a dynamite game, rushing for 179 yards and one score, while also throwing for 80 yards and one TD. Those 179 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Hibinski III was just one part of a punishing run game: Temescal Canyon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Temescal Canyon's defense and their three sacks. Le'Andrew Bryant refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Temescal Canyon moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Temecula Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Temescal Canyon will be playing at home against Great Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will be up against the Wolfpack's rather soft defense (which has allowed 36 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Temecula Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Murrieta Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Golden Bears will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
