Basketball Recap: Lake Washington Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Lake Washington won the last time they faced Redmond and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lake Washington Kangaroos came out on top against the Redmond Mustangs by a score of 62-52. Given the Kangaroos' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Mustangs are ranked 27th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Redmond's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iha Kasam, who posted 24 points along with five boards and three steals. The match was Kasam's 12th in a row with at least 16 points. Sofia Locati was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Lake Washington's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points over those games. As for Redmond, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-2.

Lake Washington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-39 victory against Issaquah on the 11th. As for Redmond, they have also already played their next game, a 76-59 win against Skyline on the 11th.
