Basketball Recap: Maximus Von Ancken Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Robinson

Strawberry Crest won the last time they faced Robinson and things went their way on Thursday too. The Strawberry Crest Chargers skirted past the Robinson Knights 61-59. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Strawberry Crest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maximus Von Ancken led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Jayson Lewis was another key player, going 6 of 13 on his way to 19 points.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcell Smith, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaden Behel, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points.

Strawberry Crest's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-12. As for Robinson, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Strawberry Crest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-63 loss against Winter Haven on the 3rd. Robinson has also already played their next contest, a 92-72 win against Jefferson on the 3rd.
