Baseball Recap: St. John's Takes a Loss

St. John lost to Bridges Prep back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Islanders took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buccaneers. The Islanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. John's saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Bailey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Jude Janssen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Bridges Prep, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John's will take on Scott's Branch at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bridges Prep, they will face off against Edisto at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
