Baseball Game Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Spanish Fork Dons

Timpview is 0-4 against Spanish Fork since March of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Thunderbirds will be playing at home against the Dons at 3:30 p.m. Timpview has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Having struggled with 12 defeats in a row, Timpview turned things around against Springville on Friday. They skirted past the Red Devils 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunderbirds have posted since March 10th.

Will Cannon was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jordan Christensen, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Timpview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are 5-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Spanish Fork suffered their closest loss since April 29, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Orem by a score of 5-3.

Spanish Fork saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Pintar, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Timpview's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 8-15. As for Spanish Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 8-15.
