Basketball Recap: Hodgson Vo-Tech Takes a Loss

Hodgson Vo-Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the St. Georges Tech Hawks, falling 74-41. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Hawks are ranked fifth).

St. Georges Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Crawford led the charge by going 6 for 7 en route to 14 points. That's the most points Crawford has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Davis, who had 12 points and four steals.

Hodgson Vo-Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for St. Georges Tech, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hodgson Vo-Tech will take on Appoquinimink at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Georges Tech, they will square off against William Penn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in William Penn's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
