Softball Recap: Mcminn Central's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

McMinn Central managed to slip by Copper Basin the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chargers lost 15-9 to the Cougars on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Chargers have suffered since March 21, 2024.

McMinn Central saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Peterson, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Another was Riley Thompson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

McMinn Central moved to 10-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Copper Basin, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

Coincidentally, McMinn Central and Copper Basin will both be playing Tellico Plains the next time they take the field. The Chargers will host the Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Cougars will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
