Basketball Recap: Belmont's Win Ends 15-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Belmont can bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They took down the Cristo Rey Cougar 46-30. The Bison's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Belmont's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mashayla Valentine, who posted 20 points and five steals. Valentine is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. MaraMarie Rucker was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 11 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals.

Belmont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Belmont will square off against Cincinnati College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cristo Rey, they will venture away from home to face off against Horizon Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
