Preview: Mohawk Warriors vs. Carey Blue Devils
Mohawk and Carey are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Mohawk Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Carey Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mohawk will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Carey is ranked 149th).
Mohawk can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Sunday. They blew past Fort Loramie 45-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Mohawk has posted since December 16, 2023.
Meanwhile, Carey had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against Upper Sandusky by a score of 53-46.
Mohawk is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Carey, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
Mohawk came up short against Carey when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 46-34. Can Mohawk avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
