Baseball Recap: Bloomingdale Now 14-1 over Last 15 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bloomingdale had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Horizon Hawks with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Bulls have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bloomingdale got a great performance from Javier Navas-Hoyer as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Navas-Hoyer has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Alvin Cruz and Cesar Campos did most of the damage at the plate: Cruz got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one triple, while Campos went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Cruz has posted since back in February. Isaiah Perez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Bloomingdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Horizon only posted an OBP of .263.

Bloomingdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Horizon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-14.

As of now, neither Bloomingdale nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
