Basketball Game Preview: South Columbus Stallions vs. Hemingway Tigers

The South Columbus Stallions will venture away from home to face off against the Hemingway Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hemingway took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on South Columbus, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, South Columbus earned a 33-21 victory over West Columbus. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stallions.

South Columbus' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Karys Townsend, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals, and De'Asia Johnson, who posted nine points. Townsend has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.

Meanwhile, Hemingway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 74-6 loss at the hands of Kingstree. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-2.

Hemingway's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for South Columbus, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.
