Baseball Game Preview: Fox Creek Predators vs. Strom Thurmond Rebels

The Fox Creek Predators will take on the Strom Thurmond Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither Fox Creek nor Strom Thurmond posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Fox Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Airport get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory.

Kale Williford looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Fox Creek's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Will Fountain, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Strom Thurmond didn't have quite enough to beat Airport on Saturday and fell 3-2. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Strom Thurmond's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Fox Creek, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Fox Creek couldn't quite finish off Strom Thurmond when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Fox Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
