Baseball Recap: Wayne Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Capitol Encore Academy last Wednesday, Wayne Preparatory Academy came back down to earth. Wayne Preparatory Academy fell 8-5 to the Riverside Christian Academy Royals on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 two weeks ago.

TRENT WILLIAMS made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He has become a key player for Wayne Preparatory Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-3 otherwise.

Wayne Preparatory Academy suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-4. As for Riverside Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Wayne Preparatory Academy will square off against Community Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Wayne Preparatory Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Community Christian has averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Riverside Christian Academy, they will take on Scotland Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
