Baseball Recap: Millard West Takes Down Ranked Papillion-Lavista

Millard West faced Papillion-LaVista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Monarchs. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Monarchs: they've now won eight in a row.

Dylan Swiercek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chance Roberts was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Owens, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
