Basketball Recap: Fountain Central Comes Up Short

Fountain Central was the 69-31 winner over Riverton Parke when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Fountain Central Mustangs fell 36-24 to the Riverton Parke Panthers on Friday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Riverton Parke got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jonah Hopkins out in front who posted 11 points and five rebounds. Eli Roberts was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Fountain Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Riverton Parke, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Fountain Central will venture away from home to challenge Covington at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Covington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season. As for Riverton Parke, they will host Dugger Union at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Riverton Parke is facing Dugger Union at the right time seeing as Dugger Union is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
