Dunlap had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They came out on top against the Ottawa Pirates by a score of 9-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Davis Weeks, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Blake Dietz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Dunlap's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ottawa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Dunlap will host East Peoria at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.7, the Raiders 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Ottawa, they will challenge Morris at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Redskins will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
