Recap: Hernando Leopards vs. Lecanto Panthers
The Hernando Leopards lost against the Lecanto Panthers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hernando took a serious blow against Lecanto, falling 76-39.
When it comes to explaining why Hernando lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joseph Rivera. Despite the final result, he scored 10 points along with 5 assists. Rivera is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Sam Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
Jt Tipton had an outrageously good game for Lecanto as he scored 21 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Tipton has scored at least 25% of Lecanto's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylen Moore, who scored 18 points.
Hernando now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Lecanto, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hernando will take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Lecanto won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Port at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd.
