Basketball Recap: Maryville Comes Up Short

After flying high against West last Tuesday, Maryville came back down to earth. The Maryville Red Rebels took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alcoa Tornadoes on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Red Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Tornadoes are ranked 26th).

Maryville's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Alcoa, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Maryville nor Alcoa have any future games scheduled.
