Baseball Recap: East Iberville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Northeast last Monday, East Iberville came back down to earth. The East Iberville Tigers lost 17-7 to the Port Allen Pelicans on Wednesday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pelicans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Noah Cushenberry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for East Iberville: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise.

East Iberville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. The victory (which was Port Allen's ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as East Iberville Tigers duke it out with Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Port Allen, they will host White Castle at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
