Football Recap: Hampton Bulldogs vs. Lafayette County Cougars
Hampton couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 24-14 to the Lafayette County Cougars on Friday. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row dating back to last season.
Rodrevious Bailey went supernova for Lafayette County, rushing for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also picking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown. Bailey got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible85 yards. Another player making a difference was Jordan Walters, who rushed for 120 yards on only 11 carries.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton will square off against Foreman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lafayette County, they will have plenty of time to enjoy the victory as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on De Queen at 7:30 p.m. on September 13th.
