Baseball Game Preview: Lake Forest Scouts vs. Warren Township Blue Devils

Lake Forest is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will head out to square off against the Warren Township Blue Devils at 4:45 p.m. Lake Forest is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Lake Forest came up short against Crystal Lake Central and fell 5-1.

Lake Forest got a good showing from Andrew Marks, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. What's more, Marks gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Lake Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Pasquesi, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Trevor Diem also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

While Warren Township didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Grayslake North by a score of 7-2 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Warren Township's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Lake Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Lake Forest came out on top in a nail-biter against Warren Township in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scouts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
