Basketball Game Preview: Chaparral Bobcats vs. Glen Rose Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Chaparral Bobcats challenge the Glen Rose Tigers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday... Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Chaparral is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped last Tuesday as they easily beat China Spring 81-37. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Cougars are ranked 830th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Glen Rose had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 66-19 victory over Manor New Tech. That looming 66-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

The win was also the fourth in a row for Chaparral, bringing their record for this year to 10-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Glen Rose, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
