Football Game Preview: Montville Mustangs vs. Weequahic Indians

Two dominant wideouts in Sierra Turner and Heaven Porter are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Montville Mustangs will face off against the Weequahic Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Montville's defense has only allowed 7.9 points per game this season, so Weequahic's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Montville's offense might be in the hot seat on Wednesday considering what happened against Wayne Valley on Friday. They took a 13-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Meanwhile, Weequahic never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 46-0 victory over Memorial. The Indians' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Weequahic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Porter and Samiyah Hutchins. Porter got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Weequahic is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.2 points on average over those games. As for Montville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2-1.
