Basketball Recap: Austin Gets the Win

Austin won the last time they faced Southwestern, and Brynn Owens did her part to make sure it happened again. The Austin Eagles secured a 62-56 W over the Southwestern Rebels on Tuesday thanks in part to Owens, who posted 25 points along with seven boards and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Austin's points.

Southwestern lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Harlee Hill, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hill a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Baleigh McAfee, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Austin's record now sits at 19-3. As for Southwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Austin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-24 win against Salem on the 30th. As for Southwestern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-44 victory against Jac-Cen-Del on the 30th.
