Softball Recap: Monterey Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Monterey and Watertown, and Watertown kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats lost 12-2 to the Purple Tigers on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Purple Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-0 loss on Wednesday.

Monterey has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-11-1 record this season. As for Watertown, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.

Monterey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Watertown, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 5-4 win against Trousdale County on the 12th.
