            Softball Recap: Greenville Yellow Jackets vs. Sparta Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            The matchup between Greenville and Sparta  on Tuesday hardly resembled the  4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Spartans by a score of  19-18. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  4-0  on Tuesday.
  Brooke Lindquist and  Alexa Hyler did some serious damage despite the final result:  Lindquist  went a perfect 5-for-5 with two  triples, five  RBI,  and three  runs, while  Hyler  went 3-for-5 with five  runs, two  triples,  and four  RBI.  Aubrie Uebele was another key player,  going 4-for-6 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple.
Greenville has  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record  this season. As for Sparta, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
 Coming up, Greenville will challenge Allendale at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.85  runs per game on average), something the Yellow Jackets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sparta, they will welcome Coopersville  at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Broncos have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last four matches.
