Baseball Recap: Interlachen Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

It's playoff time, and Interlachen had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a run and slipped past the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted against the Blue Wave since March 8, 2022.

Rodney Blackwelder made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Interlachen is undefeated when Blackwelder posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jerrett Cribbs, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Robert McCumbers, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Interlachen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for P.K. Yonge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.
